Jägermeister Margarita

It all started when we watched a documentary about Berlin. That’s one of our favorite cities. We always have plans to go there again, but we always have to postpone our visit. So, we just talk about the memories. Of course curry wurst, weissbier and jagermeister shots are always part of those memories. Before the meal one shot, after the meal another. Before drinking beer one shot, afterwards one, two, three,… more. For drinkers, it’s not a main course like wine or beer. You can have it before or after. With this jagermeister margarita recipe, we wanted to change it.

The idea came from my husband, and he prepared the cocktail. Margaritas are our favorite type of cocktails. We like the flexibility in preparing them. If it’s orange season, make an orange margarita, if it’s time for cherries, use cherry juice, or whatever.

This time we wanted it to have some jagermesiter, the famous German digestif. It’s made with 56 herbs and spices. When consumed in a shot glass before and/or after meals, it really helps your digestive system.

As it is so spicy and a little sweet, you had better drink it cold. Perfect match for a margarita recipe. The colder your jagermeister margarita is, the better it tastes. And we went one step further. We drank our margaritas with a few thin slices of chili pepper. I know it sounds weird but tastes really well. We also had some chocolate chips which balanced the hot feeling of chili and ice cold feeling of margarita.

I strongly suggest you to give this margarita recipe a try. You can prepare it for your parties or for a joyful evening at home. You can adjust alcohol level by including more or less tequila and jager. And have a lot of ice ready to chill your margarita.
