Kiwi melon smoothie is a perfect summer drink with sweet and tropical flavors. It is a healthy and enjoyable smoothie which takes almost no time to prepare.
Summer is smoothie season for us. We usually make it with my son. I prepare the ingredients and he likes to be the food processor operator. When we let him help us in the kitchen, he feels great. Actually, he is really good at mixing and tasting. If he doesn’t like the taste, that recipe never appears on the blog! We really appreciate his gourmet genes. In this recipe everything was OK, but when we made blackberry watermelon smoothie it was his idea to to use sour cherry jam along with honey.
Kiwi melon smoothie (or you can call it melon banana smoothie) is an easy and delicious way to bear hot summer afternoons and evenings. A smoothie also makes a fast breakfast for those who have to be on time to work. Just pour it into a disposable plastic container and have your breakfast on the way to work. I bet you will be more energetic and will have a better day at work. Smoothies are also very healthy drinks with their milk and fruit content. They are far healthier than fruit juices. The pulp and seeds in smoothies include dietary fiber and this makes them thicker and healthier than fruit juice.
In this kiwi melon smoothie and in most smoothie recipes, sweeteners are used, but that is not a must. The fruits already have a lot of sugar, so sweeteners like jam or honey only mean extra calories for you. Artificial sweeteners like syrup and even sugar are not innocent and they may make your healthy smoothie a totally unhealthy drink. So, the golden rule is to keep away from sugar as much as possible. You can start it by cutting down on honey in this recipe. Bon appetite!
p.s. Consume in 30 minutes, otherwise may start darkening!
