High in vitamin and mineral content, brussel sprouts became very popular recently. The good thing is that, they are really yummy and are suitable for a variety of recipes ranging from salads to main dishes. This can be a main dish or a kind of appetizer depending on the amount you serve, but for me Meatballs with Brussel sprouts is always a main dish.
It is a perfect recipe for omnivores. It offers perfectly balanced nutritional value rich in protein and vitamins. What is more, it is delicious. Usually, if something is healthy, that’s not delicious, or vice versa, but this recipe breaks the ordinary combination. The smell of this Meatballs with Brussel sprouts recipe is also really tempting.
The ingredients are easily available at any of the supermarkets. I bought the Brussel sprouts from the organic food market near my home, and that really made a difference. When I buy them from the supermarket, family members like meatballs more, but this time brussel sprouts were the stars of the meal. You can also sop up the gravy with some bread, and that’s as yummy as the meal itself.
The preparation is also very easy. Once you have all the ingredients ready on the kitchen table, it takes about 15 minutes to cut the sprouts, make the meatballs and prepare the sauce.
Meatballs I made were delicious, but any spice you like will make them better for your appetite. You can add any spice at any quantity into your meatballs. Substituting olive oil for butter may bring another variety and more health, but I really like my version with butter.
If you need a quick, healthy and delicious recipe for your family or friends, meatballs with brussel sprouts is the right one for you. You can also enjoy it with a glass of red wine for a romantic winter dinner at home.
